Code of Conduct
ES Advisors provides independent advisory and analytical support to organisations operating in complex, uncertain, or politically sensitive environments.
Our work is guided by the following principles.
Independence
ES Advisors provides independent analysis and advice. Our assessments are not produced on behalf of governments, political movements, advocacy groups, source organisations, or commercial data providers.
We do not advocate for political positions. Our role is to help clients understand risk, exposure, context, and plausible implications for decision-making.
Source neutrality
We use a range of open sources, official documents, specialist publications, datasets, media reporting, expert commentary, and other publicly available information.
The use of a source does not imply endorsement of its views, funding, political position, editorial framing, or institutional affiliation.
Sources are selected for their relevance, evidentiary value, and analytical usefulness. Where sources are sensitive, partial, contested, or politically framed, they are treated accordingly.
Analytical integrity
We distinguish between confirmed facts, reported claims, assumptions, interpretation, and forward-looking judgement.
Where possible, sensitive or contested information is corroborated through additional sources. Where corroboration is not possible, uncertainty is clearly reflected in the analysis.
We do not knowingly misrepresent information, exaggerate confidence, or present speculation as fact.
Practical relevance
Our work is designed to support practical decision-making. We focus on materiality, exposure, operational relevance, and plausible consequences for organisations.
We aim to provide analysis that is clear, proportionate, and useful, rather than alarmist, ideological, or unnecessarily complex.
Confidentiality
Client information, commissioned work, research inputs, and internal analytical materials are handled confidentially unless disclosure is expressly agreed.
We do not disclose client-sensitive information, proprietary material, or confidential research processes without permission.
Limitations
Political, security, regulatory, and operational environments can change quickly. Analysis can reduce uncertainty, but it cannot eliminate it.
ES Advisors’ work supports better-informed decisions. It does not guarantee outcomes, replace legal advice, or remove the need for client judgement.
Professional conduct
ES Advisors aims to operate with honesty, discretion, and respect for clients, collaborators, sources, and affected communities.
We avoid conflicts of interest where possible and disclose relevant limitations where they may affect the independence or scope of our work.
Legal and ethical compliance
ES Advisors aims to operate in accordance with applicable laws, contractual obligations, and professional standards in the jurisdictions relevant to its work.
We do not seek to obtain information through unlawful access, deception, coercion, unauthorised systems access, or other improper means.
Our research is based on lawful open-source collection, client-provided information, official documents, specialist publications, datasets, media reporting, expert commentary, and other publicly available or appropriately authorised materials.
Where legal, regulatory, security, or ethical sensitivities arise, we assess them carefully and may limit, decline, or adapt work where appropriate.
